Here is the official announcement:
Virtual, augmented and mixed reality (VR) will revolutionize the realms of games, education, medicine, entertainment and sports in the upcoming next few years. Technology companies, start-ups and media professionals in Bavaria have to learn how virtual worlds are created, experienced and how they can be successfully marketed.
With the multi-part event “IMMERSIFIED“ organizations like Isarnetz, Transmedia Bayern, the Bayerische Filmzentrum, the SCE Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship and innovative industry partners like DEXPERIO together want to help with the development of a Virtual Reality industry in the region and thus strengthen the sustainability of the technology and media industry location Bavaria.
The evolution of digital technologies is in full swing, leading to an increasing fusion of experiences in the physical and digital space. The age of Holographic computing with its range of augmented, mixed and virtual reality applications is developing rapidly. Products such as Microsoft Kinect already allow innovative forms of interaction. The announced data goggles Microsoft Hololens promises another milestone in the field of Holographic / Immersive Computing.
At the Immersive Computing Hackathon participants will gain insight and outlook on existing or emerging technologies from Microsoft, such as the data goggles Hololens. Participants create technical prototypes of future AR and VR applications with a focus on the interaction between physical and digital worlds based on Microsoft Kinect that will be tested at the end of the Hackathon and evaluated by an expert jury. The Hackathon is aimed at programmers, IT and technology specialists, designers, game designers, inventors, artists and storytellers.
